The short version
Rachel was born on the first day of summer in Michigan and now lives in Ohio with her husband. She studied at The Ohio State University, and she has been building worlds since long before she was allowed to call it a job. She runs on books, sunshine, chocolate, and an unshakable loyalty to the color blue.
She published her debut novel, Silent Kingdom, in 2018 and has not slowed down since: a complete YA epic fantasy trilogy, a finished four book saga of dragons and empire, an ongoing gothic fae series with an Austen streak, and standalones dark enough to read by candlelight. Her eleventh novel, Ruin of Revenants, arrived in 2026.
Her books have been shelved, rated, and argued over by thousands of readers, and her audiobooks bring the worlds to listeners through narrators Sara Brodt and Savy Des-Etages.
